Associate Professor Dr. Nurkhamimi Zainuddin holds PhD in Technology Enhanced Language Learning from International Islamic University Malaysia. He was the former Dean at the Faculty of Major Language Studies, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). His research focus is on Teaching Arabic as a Second Language and Technology Enhanced Language Learning. He was also the Deputy Chairman of The Malaysian e-Learning Council for Public Universities (MEIPTA). Nurkhamimi is currently the editor of International Journal of Language Education and Applied Linguistics (IJLEAL) and Journal of Arabic Linguistics and Literature (JALL). He has been appointed as Visiting Professor at Universitas Islam Negeri, Jakarta and Universitas Islam Indonesia, Yogyakarta. He was the recipient of USIM Promising Academician Award, Outstanding Academician Award and Outstanding Open Educational Resources (OER) award. To date, he is actively involved in numerous researches in the area of Open & Flexible Learning. Instead, he coined his own term which is FLOOC (Foreign Language Open Online Course) by adapting the concept of "Learning Buffet".
